THE RESEARCHERS has a goal to strive for strong Civil Society for an effective and responsive role to be able to influence rights based democratic governance through socio, political and economic empowerment for all especially for poor and women with a demonstrated understanding of Pakistan’s peculiar religio-cultural perspective.

TR aims to facilitate access to information to provide a knowledge ware house of best practices /lessons learnt through issue based research and its application for influencing policy and community empowerment to facilitate representative decision making. TR supports development that is sustainable, gender-sensitive, rights based and people-centred.

Since 1998, TR’s preferred sector of engagements are democratic governance, electioneering, election observation, Gender and Human Rights. TR specializes in:

TR has a network of local focal organizations in more than 85 Districts of Pakistan in all four provinces. TR maintains a lean organizational structure to avoid heavy institutional cost and to direct funds to programmatic activities. We have specialized staff members which are supported by sector and subject specialists having national and international experience and expertise as our resource pool. Moreover, TR has developed 43 teams of trained enumerators in 111 districts of Pakistan.

TR is part of national networks Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), Governance Institute Network Initiative (GINI) and Saving Local Democracy Network and Social Policy & Development Center (SPDC). Regionally, TR maintains the secretariat of Women in Politics in Asia Forum (WPAF) which has country chapters in Thailand, South Korea and Bangladesh focusing research and politico-electoral observation on women in political processes. Internationally we are member of International Political Scientist Association (IPSA).

We have academic association and practitioners networking with national and international researchers and research organizations like Korean Institute of Women in Politics- South Korea, King Prajadhipok’s Institute-Thailand, Democracy Watch-Bangladesh, Governance Institutes Network International (GINI), Social Policy Development Centre (SPDC). We maintain interaction with Depart Departments of Political and Social sciences in national and international universities for brainstorming to joint research project and conferences such as Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Halmsted University Sweden,  Hildesheim and Duisburg-Essen Universities Germany, Institute of Human Development & Training Colombo Sri Lanka, etc.

TR has Corporate association with its sister concern Mediators Pvt. Limited – a pioneer perception management firm in Pakistan focusing corporate sector which has event management expertise under The Mediators Conferences”.  In Production and Publications we are supported by “Prometheus Private Limited”. This network gives us an edge in development of Information Education Communication Material, documentaries and advocacy / awareness raising campaigns. We also specialize in organizing and conducting seminars, conferences, workshops. In environment sector. Alternate Fuels Consultants is another sister concern that provides turnkey solutions on environment friendly fuels.
